On your birthday, Son

CARL JAYBERT

Two beautiful leaves of years have clung
and fell from the wondrous bough of time,
The thankful tune my heart had first sung
keeps rewinding inside my mind.

Here I am fondly remembering
your cry in a most delicate softness,
The little chin I adored touching,
that replaced my cramps & pains w/ gladness.

Petals of joy bloomed in my life's garden
since the day I'm blessed with your presence,
You're the angel released from heaven
you're the greatest among my fulfillments.

From the moment I first saw your face
touched the thin strands of your scented hair;
Held the tiny hand I smelt & kissed,
brushed your nose with the tip of my finger.

I knew in my heart, I'd be your best Mom
who wouldn't trade you for what's in this world,
You'll have a happy home to call your own
I'll love, guide & protect you till I get old.

Now, as you turn 2 in full health & charm
I shut my eyes, kneel and humbly pray
That may we share more good years to come
May you live in faith & walk through God's way.

Happy Birthday, Son!
